The Dharmawangsa
by: Galuh Wulandarie

The Dharmawangsa consists of 64 rooms and suites, and one presidential room. All rooms are spacious with special themes, exquisite fabrics and unique furniture. Catering to urbanites and on-the-go business travelers, the hotel has 13 function rooms. Apart from its efficient secretarial services, the Dharmawangsa provides translation services in French, Japanese, Mandarin, German, Spanish and Malay within a 24-hour notice, for added convenience.

Excellence is in the attention to details, and the Dharmawangsa’s services can attest to this. A round-the-clock butler service is readily on-hand at each floor. Guests can travel to and from the airport and around bustling Jakarta in style with the hotel’s flashy fleet of BMWs.

The Dharmawangsa boasts of being home to an oasis right in the heart of a chic residential area — the Bimasena Club and Spa. Ms. Eleine Koesyono, the Bimasena Club’s Public Relation Officer, gladly took us on a tour.

The Bimasena Club offers an expansive selection of spa treatments, a fitness centre, two swimming pools for adults and kids, a squash court and outdoor tennis courts. But what immediately caught my eye was the semi-outdoor jacuzzi. Perched serenely on the club’s fourth floor, it has a beautiful view of the hotel’s lush garden.

The club’s major attractions include:

  • The Spa
Spa clients claim to have emerged physically transformed by this rejuvenating experience. Must-tries are its signature treatments, such as the luxurious pearl and tuberose treatment, golden caviar facial, and the ayus lomi treatment. The club also has an exclusive Hydrotherapy treatment from Germany. According to Ms. Koesyono, “Our Hydrotherapy treatment is one amongst few in Jakarta; the various water therapies have benefited our guests by increasing circulation, detoxifying and relaxing the body, stimulating the immune system, as well as increasing muscle tone and reducing fatigue and pain.” To complete the pampering experience, hotel guests can enjoy a 20 percent discount on all spa treatments.

  • Swimming Pool
The club’s indoor and an outdoor swimming pools leave both the mind and body calm and refreshed. Similar to an island paradise, greens frame the outdoor pool.
Situated on the club’s fourth floor, the indoor pool on the other hand offers a fascinating glimpse of the Jakarta skyline, particularly at night. It comes complete with a temperature controller to allow for full enjoyment of it, whether day or the night.

  • Fitness Centre
According to Ms. Koesyono, weekends are their busiest periods, as families troop to the club for a weekend getaway. While moms are in the spa and the kids are having a blast by the pool, dads can relax in the club’s fitness centre, which is equipped with a squash court and special trainers for guests.

  • Beauty Salon
As you step into the salon you will immediately feel at ease with its cozy ambiance. Choose from a range of salon services, including haircuts, hair styling, hair coloring, and collagen cream baths.
