Opened on January 21, 2006, Kemang Icon is truly an exciting place to live, work and play. Designed with the unique integration of business and leisure lifestyles, you may find the place a little bit too intriguing at first. Instead of a reception desk, on the ground floor you’ll find various chic boutiques and a painting gallery showcasing their latest trends. At the end of the hallway, there is an elevator designed with stylish transparent glass walls tainted with white curvy lines.
The reception desk is on the second floor, where two pleasant receptionists will welcome you. While you check-in, your luggage will be taken care of and you can take a sip of Breeze (their refreshing welcome drink) served in a stylish long champagne glass to lift up your spirits. If you are too tired from your travels, just don’t bother. Head straight to your room and ask the staff to complete the necessary forms.
Consisting of eight Courtyard and four Edge apartments, the establishment offers you the warmth and attentiveness of personalized service. In Kemang Icon, personalized service goes far. By request, you can have your favorite songs downloaded to the iPod, change the scent of the room, stock the bar with your favorite snacks and drinks or have your preferred amenities provided.

“Kemang Icon is intended to be an intimate living environment complete with an array of facilities, where our residents can work, play, dine and even go shopping at one place. In short, it is a one-stop lifestyle center,” she explained.
The owner of the establishment is Ir. B. Sardjono Sani, a modernist architect in Indonesia with over 20 years of experience. The first room he designed was the Illusion. However, all twelve suites in Kemang Icon are indeed his favorites, as he has put his entire heart and craft into designing each one of them.
Kemang Icon Cuisines
The chefs of Kemang Icon specialize in delectable home-cooking. That morning, we had the privilege of having breakfast at The Edge. The menu consisted of hot dishes, such as English Breakfast, French Toast with Fresh Strawberries, Buckwheat Pancakes, Vegetarian Nasi Goreng and Omelets, choice of fruit platters and assortment of beverages. My partner and I chose the English Breakfast and Vegetarian Nasi Goreng. After a few minutes, the fried rice came in a large plate complete with a sunny side up, slices of tomatoes and cucumbers. It tasted a little too spicy for my liking. The English Breakfast on the other hand was wholesome in its taste, with scrambled egg, mushroom, toasts and sausages. Fabulous!
Streetdirectory Verdict
Located in the heart of Kemang, you may need to leave earlier for your appointments, as the traffic jam in this area could be extremely bad. However, it is an ideal place while you are there. Lots of good food and a great nightlife!
Having stayed in Alila, we definitely recommend this as a must visit. The room, its ambience, nano ipod + surround sound, extremely comfortable beds, the aromatherapy scent simply makes you feel right at home. I have never stayed in a hotel but yet feel as if I am home before.
