The two major towns in the upper valley are Kobarid and Bovec and both are becoming more popular with property buyers. Other towns seeking a lot of foreign buying are Tolmin, and Nova Gorica.

Ernest Hemingway wrote about the Soca valley in great detail in his well known book "A Farewell to Arms".

With its beauty, ease of access, variety of outdoor sports and convenient location to explore nearby regions and towns of Slovenia as well as other countries such as Italy tourist numbers are growing.

Slovenia is making great efforts to promote itself as a holiday destination and numbers are rising year on year with the Soca valley taking a significant proportion.
