Volvo vehicles have always been renowned for their safety and high quality . And to add to the long list of quality Volvo transports, the Swedish-based automaker will once again present consumers with another masterpiece---the redesigned 2008 XC70 Cross Country which will showcase improved drivability, luxury, and safety.
The XC70 comes from the same Ford's EUCD platform as the S80 sedan and Land Rover LR2 however the XC70 has an additional 2 inches in wheelbase and 4-plus inches in length as compared to its predecessor.
In terms of the engine it gained a cylinder but loses the turbo. The standard gearbox which was previously five-speed was changed into a six-speed automatic. Inside the XC70 is more refined interior with the addition of technical features.
Some of the notable features of the XC70 include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning system, drowsy-driver alert, and a collision warning system with automatic braking. This was seconded by Anne Belec, CEO of Volvo Cars of North America she said, "The XC70 segment dynamic is changing with more crossovers and more players coming in. We're playing it conservatively."
