The benefit of flushing your fuel injectors

Some of the most common complaints of drivers today, are lack ofengine performance and poor fuel economy. There are manyvariables that can cause these two concerns. As fuel burns within the combustion chamber, there are smallparticles of carbon that are left behind. These small particlesstick to parts located within the cylinders. Over time thesebecome larger deposits that rob your engine of its performanceand economy. Intake and exhaust valves no longer seat properlyin the cylinder head. Fuel injectors become clogged and nolonger spray the fine atomized spray that they are designed tofor optimum performance. Carbon even sticks to the piston rings,eventually causing oil consuption.

Regularly flushing your fuel injection system will not onlyclean the fuel injectors, but will also help to clean the valvesand pistons at the same time. Another good practice to follow inyour daily quest to keep your engine maintained is to add acleaning agent to your fuel tank with every other fill up. Thiswill not prevent the carbon deposits completely, but will helplimit the amount of deposits between flushes. You will stillneed to flush your fuel injectors once per year.

As gas prices continue to rise with no real end in site, we asconsumers need to take any measure we can to help withincreasing our fuel economy. Maintaining our fuel injectionsystems is just one step toward achieving that goal.
