The Mazda carburetor is an integral part of the vehicle that blends the air and fuel in accurate proportions for the engine. The Mazda carburetor basically consists of an open pipe and a "throat" or "barrel" by which the air flows through the engine's inlet manifold. The pipe is designed as a venturi which narrows in section and widens again in order to increase the air flow in speed in the narrowest part. Under the venturi is the butterfly valve or the throttle valve. This is the spinning disc that can be rotated end-on to the air flow to restrict the flow or it can be turned so that it completely blocks the fair flow. This valve manages the air flow through the carburetor throat as well as the amount of fuel and air mixture that should be delivered to the system and thereby regulating engine power and speed. The throttle is usually connected via a cable or a mechanical linkage of rods to the accelerator pedal or the equivalent control. There are various working parts that make up the carburetor and these are the pilot airscrew, jet needle, throttle valve, accelerator pump, choke, float chamber, and others that efficiently carry out the proper operations of the carburetor.
