Diet Patches - Beware of This Weight Loss Scam

By: Terry Edwards

Have you been getting those emails in your inbox about the revolutionary new diet patch? The message goes along the lines of simply wearing a special diet patch and then watching the fat come rolling off. If only it was that simple.

Unfortunately, many people in their efforts to lose weight get caught up into trying just about anything. This opens the door to various schemes and scams that crooks love to use to pray on innocent people. Let's take a closer look at the diet patch and you can decide for yourself.

The concept of the diet patch is pretty simple. Like a nicotine patch, you attach the patch to your body and it absorbs different ingredients that will "melt away the pounds".

Some of the main ingredients in most all of the various diet patches include:

-Caffeine

-Chromium

-Bladderwrack (This has a high level of iodine in it)

-HCA

All of these ingredients have been researched and tested by the medical community such as the Journal of the American Medical Association. They all conclude the same things; none of these ingredients have shown any proven ability create weight loss.

Diet patches are a complete waste of money. Even the Federal Trade Commission agrees with that assessment.

The producers of "Peel Away The Pounds", which sold diet patches through TV ads, settled with the FTC for $1,000,000. The settlement was due to the company making false and unsubstantiated claims about their diet patch.

A diet patch sounds like a great weight loss solution, but the truth is that it simply doesn't work.
