The Truth About Diet Myths

Most people would like to have a perfect body shape nowadays. They will try various methods to keep fit. In order to lose weight, dieting is probably one of the most popular ways. In fact, there are a lot of myths about dieting. Is banning sugar from our diets appropriate? Is it really necessary for us not to touch fact and alcohol?

As a matter of fact, the basic idea of any diet is to eat food that contains fewer calories than your body needs to maintain its current weight. When you do this, you are forcing your body to use the fat accumulated in order to keep you alive. Of course the diet has to be a balance one even if in this case.

Besides, you should never try to rely on meal replacements such as Mypoplex, Slimfast or Eat-Smart. They cannot be treated as substitutes for real food. Another piece of fact is that calories are important for our internal organs to function properly. We cannot live without calories. As a result, we cannot cut all the calories and rely on the meal replacements.

Some people will try to stay away from foods such as potatoes and bread. They do this because they think that this kind of food is the source carbohydrates and they are only obstacles in weight loss programs. However, the fact is that such kind of food can be good for you because they will make you feel full after having them. And on the other hand it will not bring too many calories to you. As a result, it is good to eat some potatoes or bread. The only key is that you should not having too much of them! What is more important is that you should not eat them with butter and sauces. These will really bring you lots of fat.

There are also people who believe that fat is bad for you if you want to lose weight. Yet the truth is that it is not totally correct. We need fat in order to get fat-soluble vitamins. These include vitamins A, D, E and K. As a result, taking a dieting with too little fat will render problems. As a simple guideline it is recommended that the dose of fat is 35 percent of your daily calories.

In fact, only dieting is not enough if you would like to lose weight healthily. You have to combine dieting with exercising in order to have maximum effect. Remember, the aim of weight loss should be keeping yourself healthy and having a perfect body shape should be something secondary!
