Is Hoodia Safe? What You Must Know About Hoodia!

By: Sheryl Polomka

Is Hoodia safe? What are the side effects of Hoodia? These are the questions being asked by dieters all over the world. The only real side effect that has been shown with Hoodia is thirst suppression which means that dieters need to make a conscious effort to drink while they are taking it. As far as whether Hoodia is safe? There has never been any evidence to prove otherwise. This plant is a member of the succulent family just like the aloe vera plant which is also widely used for its medicinal purposes.

It is understandable that consumers are cautious of some weight loss products after the product Ephedra was removed from the market due to some serious side effects. The problem with Ephedra was that it was a stimulant and in some cases stimulated the heart to beat faster and became quite dangerous. One thing that is for certain is that Hoodia is not a stimulant and there is no risk whatsoever of having this effect.

Hoodia is not in the same category as weight loss supplements that are stimulants and its side effects do not include any of the side effects that occur with stimulants. Hoodia does not increase blood pressure or increase the heart rate so if you were deciding between a stimulant product and Hoodia then Hoodia is definitely the safest choice.

Phytopharm is a company that performed scientific testing on Hoodia and it was shown that the product is extremely effective for weight loss and it did not show any negative side effects.

The South Africans have been using this product for thousands of years and there have never been any reported side effects. So is Hoodia safe? I believe so as there is no evidence of any negative side effects and no evidence at all to suggest that Hoodia is not safe.
