Delicious cake for your high tea afternoon. Bought their chocolate cake. Very nice!
Tried the longan-almond and mango cakes. Really delicious! Not too sweet and the flavous go
Really well together!
This fruity sponge cake from this premium japanese cake shop is definitely one of the highlight here. The sponge cake is really light.Love those very fresh sliced fruits in it which are very sweet and totally not sour at all.The vanilla fresh cream in it is very smooth and light. The combination of the cream and fresh fruits are indeed heavenly delicious. You would not mind to have more than a piece as it does not look sinful at all.
Another trip to jcube with my girlfriend left our stomachs very satisfied. We chanced upon a new branch of rive gauche at jcube, we ate their tiramisu at a friend’s party and we impressed with the quality of their cake so we decided to get another flavour. We were tempted by the chocolatey cake in the display and decided to try it. It was called guanaja. The chocolate they used for the cake is dark chocolate, hence giving the cake a chocolaty taste. The bottom of the cake is very special, it is some sort of crunchy biscuit like base. The top has this nutty layer, it was actually a chocolate pieces. This chocolate tasted much sweeter than the ones that coated the cake. They used chocolate sponge cake for the middle layers, it is very soft and fluffy. The cake was not too sweet. What I enjoy most was the richness of the chocolate used in the cake.

my daughter specially reminded me to buy back her favourite cake from rive gauche after hearing my hubby and I were checking the place out. In the end, I bought two slices of the same cake cos it looked simply too appealing. I ordered the guanaja. It was pretty pricey for a slice of cake, however it was really good. The chocolate they use was the dark chocolate so the cake had this bitter sweet taste. The base was a crispy biscuit, it was very crunchy. The cake was so soft and moist, it was very fluffy too. I like the way they presented the cake, very classy, there were gold sprinkles on the cake. Most importantly it was delicious.
I was going to takashimaya to get darcis macaron but the counter was gone so i get rive gauche instead, since is much cheaper
10pieces for $8,they are much smaller than darcis
I was very disappointed with their macaron
It totally too sweet & blendless
Only chocolate one tasted like chocolate, have the chocolate aroma, but it was soggy
The rest at first i tot orange colour was orange, green was greentea, yellow was lemon....but totally wrong, all tasted the same & is super sweet with chunk of almonds flour,For service, the auntie was chatting on the phone,we have stand there for about 5mins,waiting for her to hung the call
Overall i rate 3/10
i have notice this pastry shop for quite some time cause the cakes always look so nice and mouthwatering so i decided to give it try recently but it turn out disappointing. i always like to eat mont blanc so when i saw the shop selling mont blanc i was very excited and bought one to try. the mont blanc is different from the typical one that i eat which has a tart base, this one is purely layer cake with cream and chestnut puree. although the cake look nice, the taste was bad. the cream was blend and i completely cant taste any chestnut, not to mention the lack of chestnut flavour. the only redeming factor was just the nice packagingSpending: Approximately SGD 6.50(Tea)
Rive Gauche Patisserie caters to a wide range of cakes and they are all highly raved. I bought one during my dad\'s birthday. A pretty special flavour which is the Pistachio and cherry cake. The pistachio and cherry mousse is sandwiched in between two layers of chocolate sponge cake. The mousse tasted very weird. It made the sponge cake soggy! The mousse is very sour too. Guess the only not too bad items would be the chocolates on top of the cake. I will never buy it again! It\'s a total waste of money! =\'(
