Pre-Pregnancy Clinic Congratulations on your successful pregnancy! We believe that each pregnancy is a unique experience and so we encourage you to be actively involved in making decisions about your antenatal care.
	Antenatal Risk Assessment These are minimally invasive tests designed to assess the risk of certain genetic disorders or birth defects in each individual pregnancy.
Antenatal Diagnosis and Counselling These are invasive diagnostic tests designed to confirm chromosomal disorder, such as Down syndrome and genetic diseases. These tests usually offered to women who have an increased chance of having a baby with a disorder eg women over 35 years old, women who have had a previous Down Syndrome child or other chromosomal disorders, or women who know that they or their baby’s father have an unusual chromosomal arrangement.
	Birth Plan / Delivery A birth plan is a written outline of what you would like to happen during labour and delivery. This plan may include the setting you want to give birth in, the people you want to have with you, and the pain medications you want, if any.

Gynaecology
General Gynaecology Uterine fibroids are benign (non-cancerous) overgrowths of fibrous and smooth muscle tissue of the womb. They are very common in women of reproductive age and rarely cancerous. Most women with fibroids are asymptomatic but some may have heavy menstrual bleeding, cramps or abdominal discomfort. Treatment options include observation, medication for symptom control or surgery.
Endometriosis Endometriosis is a condition where the tissues that line the inside of the womb (endometrium) are found outside the womb, in muscle layer of the womb (adenomyosis), ovary, bladder and bowel. Women may present with heavy and sometimes irregular periods, painful periods, pain during intercourse and lower abdominal pain in between periods. Endometriosis may also affect a woman’s ability to conceive. Treatment depends on symptoms and may involve observation, medication or surgery depending on its severity
Ovarian Cysts Ovarian cysts are fluid filled sacs. Most ovarian cysts are benign (non-cancerous) but some are cancerous, or may become cancerous over time. Ovarian cysts can vary in size - from less than the size of a pea to the size of a large orange (sometimes even larger). They may be related to a woman’s periods (functional) or may be pathological. Most ovarian cysts are asymptomatic (especially functional cysts). However some ovarian cysts may cause problems such as abdominal swelling, pelvic pain (constant or intermittent), pain during intercourse, irregular or heavy periods. Sometimes a cyst may bleed into itself, burst or twist (torsion). This can cause a sudden severe pain in the lower abdomen. Treatment depends on symptoms, size and nature of the cyst and may involve observation, medication or surgery.
Menstrual Problems & Hormonal Imbalance Treatment Investigations include hormonal profile, ultrasound scan, hysteroscopy and biopsy of the lining of the womb. Treatment depends on the abnormality detected and the options are hormonal treatment, hysteroscopic resection/ablation and hysterectomy.

GynaeMD General - For women of all ages, it includes a detailed physical examination with the basic blood tests. There will be no gynaecological assessments.
Menopause Menopause is a natural event in a woman’s life and usually occurs between 45-55 years old. Entering menopause can be beautiful but menopause is different for everyone. Some women notice little difference in their bodies or moods. Others may find it difficult to cope. It is therefore important to understand how to manage menopause and overcome the symptoms.
Infertility Investigation & Management If you and your partner are experiencing some difficulty, you may wish to have an infertility assessment to uncover the cause of the problem. The basic evaluation can be completed within a few menstrual cycles in most cases and includes: Medical history and physical examination Ultrasound and hysterosalpingography Semen analysis Ovulation assessment Laparoscopy may be used to diagnose and treat endometriosis, pelvic adhesions or ovarian cysts. The patency of the fallopian tubes can also be assessed.

Contraception With contraceptive methods, women can plan both the number and spacing of children they desire. Some contraceptive methods also help protect against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Today there are many choices of birth control for women and each has its good points and potential side effects. Over time, a couple may find one method suits them better than others depending on their needs and preferences.
Minimally Invasive Surgery Laparoscopic Surgery Laparoscopic (or key-hole) surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia. It involves a small cut in the abdomen so that a tiny telescope can be inserted to examine your reproductive organs and look for any abnormality, problems or damage. Hysteroscopic procedures Hysteroscopy is minor surgery that may be performed in a day surgery centre with local, regional, or general anesthesia or no anesthesia at all. It involves placing a thin, telescope-like device through the vagina and cervix to look inside the womb. It may help us diagnose or treat a uterine problem. The procedure poses little risk for most women.
Urogynaecology It deals with disorders relating to female incontinence and pelvic floor disorders.
