A Quick Restaurant Tour |
If you are visiting San Antonio Texas and do not make the stop at the fAuamous River Walk, you are missing out on a lot of wonderful culinary delights. Along the River Walk you can tantalize your taste buds on a variety of different cuisines. No matter what kind of cuisine you are hungry for, chances are, you will find it along the River Walk. If authentic Tex Mex is what you are craving, then you are in great luck. With restaurants like Biga on the Banks and Country Line Bar-B-Q, you are sure to find what you are looking for. Biga on the Banks (rated as one of the top restaurants in Texas) not only offers a wonderful view of the river, but their food is out of this world. It is a place that draws in the locals and you know if the locals frequent a place, then it is worth a visit. What a better place to enjoy authentic Tex Mex flare. If it is more of a Texas barbecue taste that you are after than a visit to Country Line Bar-B-Q is a must. Here you can enjoy the slow cooked taste of barbecue that melts in your mouth. It is a great place to enjoy a taste of Texan style barbecue while enjoying the spectacular views of the river. If you are looking for a place that has a more southwestern style of food, then you definitely should check out Boudro's or Zuni Grill. Both places offer beautifully inspiring views of the River. They are both a hot spot for both vacationers and locals. Boudro's is famous for celebrity sightings, but more so for their freshly made at the table side guacamole. It is definitely something that you don't want to miss out on. Their food has the distinctive southwestern flavor of the region. Zuni Grill is another favorite of the locals. The decor is very distinctly contemporary southwestern style to match the cuisine. It is a great place to sit by the river and enjoy the flavors of Texas inspired by the great Southwest. Now if it is true Mexican food that you are looking to eat, then stopping at Acenar is a must. This restaurant uses authentic Mexican recipes to create a dish that is sure to please everyone. You can get the best margarita that you will ever have, sit along the eastern bank of the San Antonio River and enjoy your meal. This is a definite stop every time I visit San Antonio. This was just a brief overview of a few of the restaurants that I have visited while in San Antonio. No matter what type of food you are craving, you will find it along the River Walk. If you are in the mood for something Italian, Asian or Mediterranean in taste, the River Walk has it too. With so many different restaurants to partake in, maybe they should change the name to the Restaurant Walk.
