Hydro-power or water power has been in use for many years and is still the most common form of power used today. The draw back of this has been that electric plants could only be built near a water supply and a river would have to be dammed up to create a water fall to turn the turbines. This gives hydro power a limited range for users. ,
Siemens has 6,300 wind turbines all over the world, including their offshore wind Farms., Wind Power uses large wind mills that turn powerful turbines, usually found in large scale wind farms, to create an efficient amount of energy all over the world, providing power to remote areas. , A survey from Siemens USA states that Wind power is the fastest growing energy source in the world. , Sustainable Power may be acquired in some 30 states, unfortunately, not in all 50 of them, from an alternative electricity supplier. Even if your state doesn't offer alternative power, you may still be able to buy green energy certificates. This means that you might have to switch from your current electric company in order to purchase these green tags.
Solar power takes power from the sun and converts this energy into electricity. , Solar energy has been used for many years, mostly to heat water heaters and swimming pools; they have recently produced solar panels that heat residential homes. You can obtain portable solar panels that may be installed on motor homes, boats and caravans. , Solar panels are lighter today than in previous years.
With all the types of energy we have today, people are still researching a more refined and economical source of energy due to the continued use of fossil energy polluting the earth's air. After many years of development and research, a new power cell, called the EFOY (Energy For You), has been produced by the company SFC (Smart Fuel Cell). This new power cell is quiet,, light weight,, environmentally friendly, and it is fully automatic, it can produce energy for caravans, , boats,, cars, and motor homes. There is a distinct difference between a fuel cell and a battery. A fuel cell converts chemical energy directly to electrical energy by using a liquid fuel (methanol) as its power source. They work very well at low temperatures, which make fuel cells more suitable for mobile uses, as it can be used as a generator when no other power is available, and it is completely maintenance free. This low cost energy efficient fuel cell is now available from TSW Comsat, a company in the UK that provides green power equipment.

You may have noticed a large increase in the number of television commercials for vehicles that are able to run on E85 fuel, manufactured in large part from corn. Auto manufacturers have been dragging their feet for decades, but it appears as if they're finally ready to become part of the Green Revolution. That's great news, of course, but there have been many other companies, organizations, and government agencies in all sectors of the American economy that have been using Green power for some time.
In 2005, the EPA released its list of the Top 25 Green Power Partners, and the list includes some surprising entries. Here is the list, with Power Partners appearing in order of purchase size:
1. U.S. Air Force
2. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
3. Johnson and Johnson, Inc.
4. U.S. Department of Energy
5. The World Bank
6. Safeway, Inc.
7. U.S. General Services Administration, Region 2
8. Whole Foods Market
9. City of San Diego, CA
10. HSBC North America
11. New Jersey Consolidated Energy Savings Program
25. East Bay Municipal Utility District, Main Wastewater Plant, Oakland, CA
The EPA's Green Power Partnership is a voluntary program that encourages businesses, organizations, and agencies to use Green power in their day-to-day practice. When Green Partners sign on with the program, they pledge to supply a significant portion of their electricity needs with energy that has been produced by environmentally friendly means.
Although there will always be room for more growth, the program is expanding, and the EPA's list of Green Power Partners has grown to include more than 550, including a number of Fortune 500 companies; city, state, regional, and federal agencies; military establishments; trade associations; and several universities.
All of those figures, when coupled with the auto industry's increasing focus on producing vehicles that will run on E85, is enough to offer Green power enthusiasts a reason to at least become guardedly optimistic about the future of the planet and its inhabitants. Perhaps this is the beginning of the new world of Green power that visionaries have been talking about for decades. Only time will tell, but it's definitely a start.
