Now if your playing just your hand odds at that moment your gonna be betting , this is correct, I'd usually go about 1/2 the pot depending but if that's the only way i play it I'm set at that 66.6%. Not bad but if your betting lets say you win , they called $10 on flop, $10 on turn and folded $10 bet on river cause they missed...your up say $35 with the blinds, sweet.
Now lets play it like you lost, you bet the same only this time player hits hits, most pro's will say you have to make the continue bet of $10 regardless or your giving away weakness, this time he's got $45 or more if call him. So with the odds your making 70 for every 45 lost 66/33 if you just play this one way. That's great if the odds hold up but as you all know they never seem to, this is why you have to mix up your game. Lets say your played your 66% twice and won but 3rd time you just let it slide and the player hits flush.. you just saved the $30 you lost 2 mins ago and now your up the whole $70, skipped the lose.
This is why you can only be 100% this way, not 100% hands but 100% profit with minimal loses, 66% right and losing the min. on the 33% hand is about as close to 100% your ever gonna see in poker.
Ok, now that I've given you some odds and told you to mix it up 100 times I've seen some players out there that don't know the styles of play so i think I'll start off with a break down here and go into a little detail of each. First off you have tight/balanced/loose then you have passive/neutral/aggressive.
The First Group is what kind of cards a player, plays pre-flop. Then 2nd is how they play the cards pre-flop, that being said an aggressive pre-flop play can be a passive post-flop player as well but for now lets just stick to basics.
Tight players tend to only see J's or better without pot odds and 9's or better with them as Matt Damon says in The Rounders. Balanced players tend to only see hands if it is worth it to do so in the long run, you may hear these players talk about +EV or math/odds. A Loose player is someone that going to be seeing anything from 68 or 810 suited or hands like J7 off without any pot odds at all. Now that you know what cards they play this is how they play them.
Passive players check/call most hands if they have it or if they are going for it. Neutral would check/call the min. or bet the min. Aggressive would bet 4x the blind to 2x the pot to all in. I'll go into better detail of these three next week. Hope this helped.
