A Connecting Point for All Expats One of the most rewarding places for expatriates to connect with in Singapore is the American Association, an 89 year old institution charted to specifically bridge the gap between the expat and local communities. Over the course of nine decades the American Association has been the driving force in creating groups like the American Woman’s Association, the Singapore American Community Action Council, The American Club, the Singapore American School, and the Singapore American Newspaper. Today the American Association serves all in the expat community be they American or not and strives to uphold it’s rich tradition with social events and community outreach programs. - In February of every year it holds the George Washington Ball; the premier social event in the community.
- Come summer time in July a huge outdoor party and picnic to celebrate American Independence is held on or around July 4, America ’s Independence Day.
- Other community events include the Ambassador's Cup Golf Tournament- a day and evening golfing event and JazzNite a rollicking five hours of food, beer and music at Fort Canning Park .
