Loosing weight is no easy task no matter how you look at it and one of the things that makes it so hard is the myth that it is a hard task.
Many of the things that we do not realize can cause our weight loss to take longer. Everyone knows that during weight loss the consumption of anything with fat is bad for you and the fact that most things contain fat just makes this seem like an almost impossible task. One of the biggest sources of fat that anyone can consume in a day occurs most often at lunch time. While you are at work and that lunch buzzer rings, you have only a short time to get your lunch, eat it and then return to work before the bell rings again. This leads to many people making a bad mistake of choosing the wrong food which can adversely affect their weight loss goals.
How often do you grab a sandwich at the snack bar or from a vending machine for lunch just to find yourself hungry for a snack a couple hours later on your next break period. Most people have to deal with this every day and there is actually a great solution to prevent this as well as helping you to maintain a healthier lifestyle.
Simply make sure that your sandwich or sub or whatever you choose to snack on has only whole wheat bread rather than the enriched white bread. The reason that whole wheat is good for you goes above and beyond the fact that the flour used to make white bread has been cleaned of most of the vitamins and minerals during its bleaching process. The Whole wheat bread is known for stabilizing your blood sugar levels which can help to curb your hunger through the fact that you will not be as hungry in two or three hours after eating.
If you do go for a sandwich, try to avoid ones with any cheese as cheese is known to be high in fat. Try to get yourself some high protein items on your sandwich as well. A tuna fish sandwich on whole wheat with low fat or fat free mayonnaise is a great way to get you protein as well as keeping down the consumption of fat. As a result, you will have more energy to spend and will be able to go longer without suffering from those mid afternoon hunger pains.
While at the same time, you should also stay away from that basket of complimentary bread that is left at the table. This bread is high in carbs and is only there for you to fill up on. In reality though, you are not filling up on the bread as it is expanding in your stomach making you think that you are full. This leads to the bread being dissolved and digested rather quickly and leaves you feeling hungry once again.
Instead, if you are feeling hungry while you are waiting for your meal to arrive, order a small salad, without cheese and ask for Italian dressing. This will provide you with good vitamins and minerals as well as helping you to curb your appetite so that when your meal arrives you can enjoy it without feeling as guilty.
