Different Types Of NHL Merchandise

By: Derek Both

If you are an ice hockey fan there is plenty of merchandise that you can get to show your support for your favourite team. For example, there are NHL jerseys, caps, jumpers, pucks and much more. This means that you can show your support in many different ways and these things can also make great gifts for fellow supporters.

Ice hockey merchandise now caters for a larger audience as well such as for kids and women. You can find things such as NHL jerseys in kids sizes too now and there are many different t - shirts that have been designed especially for women.

Caps and hats have become quite popular over recent years because not only can people wear them to games but it has also become trendy to wear them for everyday use. A lot of people like to customise NHL jerseys, jumpers and shirts by adding patches to them. You can find patches for each team regardless of who you support so you can make your merchandise more unique.

Keyrings and lighters can make nice gifts if you are looking for small presents or souvenirs for friends and families. Teddy bears wearing NHL jerseys are also popular with children and aren't too expensive.

When ice hockey first began there were only six teams in the NHL so there wasn't much merchandise available. However, the sport has come a long way since then as more people are now following the sport and there are lots more teams competing against each other. Perhaps this is why it has become more popular as it is more exciting and people can support the team which comes from where they do.

There are various different companies who make merchandise for ice hockey fans but whereas some stock the official items others don't. Whereas this doesn't matter so much for things such as keyrings and clocks, most fans would be upset to receive fake NHL jerseys. If you only want official merchandise it is advisable to check the company you are buying from before parting with your money.

It is normally fairly obvious if the items are genuine or not and any reputable company will be more than happy to answer any questions. If you are buying from an individual then you can also ask them to prove the items are genuine. For example, certificates of authenticity or receipts to show where they bought the goods are normally proof enough.
