It really does not matter whether you love them or hate them. They are on everywhere you turn on television and radio. Sports, that is.
Satellite and cable channels are flooded with every kind of sporting event imaginable and most people love at least one. Some people are obsessed with so many different types of sporting events that it is difficult for them to keep up with all their interest.
Many of these die hard sports fan take advantage of the pay per view options and different packages that are available through their satellite and cable providers. This helps them ensure they never have to miss a really important game.
With the extreme popularity of all sports in our country and the world over really, not just with older fans, but with young impressionable ones alike, it has become disturbing to some that many sports super stars have been getting into so much trouble in recent years.
Sports players have become celebrities in their own right, and they have become accustomed to the spotlight shining on them just as much as movie and music stars.
The sad thing is that the shining spotlight has been highlighting some very unsavory activities that these mega sports players have been involved in that defiantly does not present them in their best light. Going all the way back to when O. J. Simpson was accused of murder and Pete Rose was accused of unethical gambling practices. Famous names in sports just do not get any bigger than those.
The main topic of sports misconduct lately has been about steroid use and other activities that might be or have been proven criminal. These accusations are distressing to many fans who hate to see the down fall of some of their heroes. Even more distressing are all the young fans that are hearing and seeing all these activities.
Even sports stars are only human after all and everyone makes mistakes no matter what your public or private status. It does seem that with so many laws and unethical sporting behavior going on, that maybe sports officials need to take a firmer stance when it comes to how their players behave in their private lives.
Although what someone does in private, no matter who they are, is really no one else's business, it does matter when those private things become illegal things and no one should be above the law no matter what game they play.
