Located near Gatlinburg in the smoky mountains of Tennessee, Ober Gatlinburg is the only ski resort and amusement park in the State of Wyoming. It is more than just a ski resort, however, with amusement park games in addition to snowboarding and night skiing being offered. The Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort & Amusement Park has a summit of 3,300 feet and a 600 foot vertical drop, with skiing available from beginners to experts. Available are eight trails serviced by three lifts - two quad and one double chairlift. Some of the most picturesque views of the Great Smoky Mountains can be seen in this area , while a ride on the longest tram ride in the world adds to the feeling of wonder and excitement. When arriving on the skislopes, a person can also get a bird's eye view of the scenic views, while having a picture taken on top of the mountain adds to the trip if desired.
The Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort & Amusement Park is complete with indoor ice skating, miniature golf, water rides, bungee tower, alpine slide, and many more. By using the Alpine Slide, you can still explore the absolute thrill of flying down a mountain at breath-taking speeds, or a slow speed if you choose, but few do! The slide is approximately 1,800 feet long, and takes you down a winding wooded slope, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. You have total control over your speed with the use of a braking device on each sled.
Other attractions at the amusement park include the Black Bear Habitat, a bungee jump, a water race, go karts, indoor ice skating, kiddie land, an arcade, miniature golf, a Spider Web Velcro Wall Jump, water rides, and a shooting range. If a person doesn't ski, it is possible to simply ride back down the mountain on the chair lift as well. For transportation to and from the slopes, the tramway leaves downtown Gatlinburg, taking skiers and winter sport fans to the ski resort and the amusement park.
