How To Write Effective Ads For Your Business

By: snlash
Are the ads you are writing for your business just not getting any results? Are you spending money on advertising, but getting very few hits? This article will show you how to effectively write an advertisement for your business or website to produce more click-throughs and more potential customers.

The first rule of a good advertisement is to look at it from the reader?s perspective. You are very close to your business, and you know all that it has to offer. Someone reading your ad will not necessarily know those things, so you have to step away from the ad and look at it from a reader?s point of view.

Secondly, you need to provide a problem, and a solution for that problem. This can be applied to virtually every business on the planet. Your business can solve someone?s problem. What is that problem? If you are selling makeup for example, their problem is that they need and want to look more attractive, younger, and better than they do without makeup on. You are providing a solution to that problem by giving them the right makeup to do so. If you will examine that sentence, you already have a basis for your ad. "Look more attractive! Have younger looking skin and enhance your appearance with our products!? Always search for what their problem is, then start your ad by addressing that problem.

Be sure to tell the readers WHY they should buy from you! For every business out there, there is a competitor or potentially, lots of competitors. You need to let the reader know what you can provide them with, that the competition cannot. Reach out to your potential customer and let them know why your product is the best and why they would WANT to buy from you!

There are two important words in the advertising industry. Want and Need. Want and Need have to work together to pull a potential customer in from an advertisement. First of all, they have to have a need for your product. If you are selling makeup, you don?t want to target men! So look for women?s newsletters, websites, and other advertising venues to place your ad. Secondly, they must want the product or service you are advertising. And it is your job as the advertiser to make them want it. For an example, let?s take business card printing. You have found the people who need your product ? people with businesses or services that would use business cards ? now you have to make them want the business cards. Tell them what benefits they will have from getting business cards. Then tell them why they want YOUR business cards rather than someone else?s.

Finally, be sure to offer more than just a shopping experience. There is no doubt they can purchase your items from a discount store or a large corporation much cheaper. Entice them with information, articles, free samples, contests, giveaways, newsletters, and other free content. Offer them a unique shopping experience where they will get more than just what they were wanting, but things that they were not expecting as well!

If you follow these rules of marketing, and are aggressive in your words and in your advertisements, you will benefit from your new advertisements, as will your business!
