Logan enjoys three stars

By: Deepesh Rathore

I have never been a big fan of PR written releases or website content. The marketing guys are slightly better but not greatly so. While the guys, no doubt, are well-meaning, they are often ignorant about the product and highlight things that should have been swept under the carpet. Take for instance this nugget from the Mahindra-Renault website which brags about the safety aspects of the Logan:

“When it comes to safety Logan leaves nothing to chance.

As a result Logan received three stars in Euro NCPA tests, Europe's most prestigious safety rating. The car is equipped with several life saving innovations like the honeycomb dashboard. In the event of a head-on collision, the dashboard collapses and absorbs the impact of the crash, making Logan one of the safest cars on the road."

Wow, blowing a trumpet about your three-star safety rating is, well like, bragging about a three-star hotel in a district where five stars are scattered every second block.

It's almost like saying,"Deepesh Rathore was a brilliant student in B School with a rank of 57 (in a batch of 90)."
