Adorning The Tree: Christmas Ornaments

By: Chriscarlyle
For the children who get to celebrate Christmas, Christmas morning is their favorite time of the year. It's the time when they get to wake up to experience the joy of finding Christmas gifts under the tree. These kids, they think, were brought by Santa Clause. However, Santa Clause is a fantasy. The gifts were actually bought and wrapped by their parents.

In addition, probably the most traditional of all Christmas decorations is the Christmas tree. However, the Christmas tree can be uninspiring if it is not decorated. Often those decorations include Christmas lights, tinsel, an angel at the top of the tree and of course Christmas ornaments. Christmas ornaments are popular for many reasons. Some of those reasons for their popularity include their representation and the way these ornaments can be personalized as they adorn the Christmas tree.

Christmas ornaments hung from a Christmas tree symbolize a powerful message about the true meaning of this time of the year. Specifically, the first ornaments were either food or items made from food. The symbolism of these food items were a representation of God's provision for his people. Some of these foods included were various types of fruits, nuts, baked items, etc. In addition some of the first Christmas ornaments were candles. These candles were a representation of Jesus being the light of the world.

However, you aren't stuck with just baby first Christmas ornaments for getting unique Christmas decorations. Try out a whole host of personalized Christmas ornaments. Pretty much whatever you want to have made, you can (for the right amount of money). The more specific requests you have, the more money these ornaments will cost.

Once the gifts are bought, the parents have to go through the trouble of wrapping them and then hiding them so that the kids won't find them. This requires planning and hard work. If the kids find the Christmas gifts before Christmas morning, the surprise will be spoiled and the illusion of Santa Clause may be shattered long before the kids can find out from a school mate the true nature of who Santa really is. The attic or a closet are usually where the gifts are hidden but you have to be crafty because children are often craftier.

Another idea for a personalized Christmas ornament can be an ornament that symbolizes the marriage of a husband and wife. This particular ornament may have been purchased for the first Christmas together to adorn the tree. Therefore, year after year, that same ornament can be placed on the tree and the symbolism can represent the love of God and the love between the couple and the endurance of their marriage.
