Ending

By: Satish Verma

Awe-struck he was
the first witness
gazing at sunset of blazing beauty.
Still fear of ending, came with intentness,
fear of beginning too.

Language of despair
became nightmarish,
What was the inner karma beyond measure
of time?

Psychopathology?
Somebody going to seek the abortion of justice
in the cloak of law?
Fire and smoke was covering
the hidden face of future!

Life was ruined in petty squabbles
hysteria of hoarse vocal cords,
created a vertigo in bulging pride.

Ah! before winding up
I wanted not to sway!
