The Bottled Water Industry Has Its Problems |
Have you ever shelled out a couple of dollars for a bottle of water? If you have, then you are not alone. Millions of people purchase bottled liquid every day because they believe it is safe water, or rather safer fluid, than the stuff that comes out of their taps. This may not be the truth and the bottled water industry doesn't want you to know. Some bottled waters are very pure but there are others that are probably no better than your tap fluid. Know the difference and understand why people buy bottled water. The bottled water industry has come forward and joined the health craze. Once upon a time the only vitamin enhanced beverage was either a protein shake or Gatorade. Now there are celebrity endorsements of vitamin water that comes in a variety of colors and flavors. These bottled waters are designed to help people get the additional vitamins they need in a day but without taking a giant pill. For many people this is a great idea. Recently, it came to light that a bottled water company located in this country and other places was simply using tap fluid. This led to the spark of contention on whether or not bottled liquid was the right choice. It causes a landfill problem with the sheer amounts of plastic being thrown away and in reality, it is no better or worse than the fluid straight from your tap. People still buy it but at least they know the facts now. The bottled water industry is here to stay. People living in cities do not want to take the chance with their source liquid. They also do not want to drink the liquid found in many different countries where the fluid quality is not regulated. Do you blame them? The last thing they want is to get dysentery while on vacation in some foreign country. But give tap water or well liquid a chance when you are at home. You will save money and you can always add in your own flavors. You will know that you are helping the environment.
