Whether you go with a blog, or a website, or both, you will need to obtain traffic, because if nobody goes to your website or blog then you won't make any money. You will need to find a topic for your website and or blog that will interest people, and that you either know enough about or can learn enough about to produce content that people are looking for.

There are other ways of making money online, for instance, you can become an affiliate and refer your visitors to other websites where they make a purchase and you get a commission. There are a huge number of affiliate programs online that you will need to sift through to find one that is right for you. You could sell products or services directly from your site too.
