About Us

Ashtanga Yoga a system of yoga transmitted by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This dynamic method of yoga emphasizes on vinyasa (synchronizing the breath and movement), dristhi (where you place your look why in asana) and ujjayi breath (the Victorious Breath). The practice always begins with Surya Namaskar and is followed by a complete series of postures. The purpose of this method is internal cleansing through a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs.

Anugraha studied at The Yoga Institute, Mumbai. Under the guidance of Dr. Jaydev and Mrs. Hansa Jaydev who taught her that “Yoga” was not all about Asanas……but a way of life!

Along the way she has been very fortunate to have been taught and influenced by some extremely good teachers, like Javed Khansalar, Deepika Mehta, Kishan Shah, Maya Rao…….
They have all played a very important role in who she is today and have helped her discover the many positive and healing aspects of this profound practice , that has helped her move ahead on this journey of personal freedom, peace and bliss!

She teaches an Ashtanga Vinyasa and Vinyasa style class, inspired by Ashtanga and Iyengar style yoga, where postures flow with the breadth to build heat in the body and hold postures with a focus on alignment and multiple dimensions of the body.

Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga
Inside you is an innate wisdom, that intuitively understands about the very natural process of birth.
She will help you connect with this wisdom, guiding you through a class that will focus on postures that are appropriate for pregnant women with an emphasis on breathing, relaxation, and muscle toning, so can have the best possible pregnancy and delivery by learning to stretch and strengthen the body, focus and relax the mind, control breathing and develop awareness. Best of all meet a lovely group of pregnant women! Yoga is a wonderful way to bond with your baby while he/she is in the womb. It also helps you to deal with all the changes happening to your body. This class will help you build the strength necessary during pre and post natal months as well as during labor. Practicing yoga will also keep your body agile and help you recover more quickly after the birth. The Prenatal Yoga class is a great way to bond with other moms, relax, daydream and honor the life growing within you and yourself!

Designed to nourish expectant mothers during their magical journey, you will learn to use yoga’s mind/body awareness to connect with your own innate wisdom, body and your growing baby. Pre-natal yoga will assist you in strengthening the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort. It can also help you alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica.
